The official minimum JAMB cut-off mark for 2024 is 140 for universities and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education. This is the minimum score set by JAMB management for all tertiary institutions in Nigeria for the 2024/2024 academic session admission exercise. No institution in Nigeria is expected to admit candidates with scores below 140. The management of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has heard the request of many JAMB candidates and other board members to consider the official JAMB cut-off mark to help more candidates get admission into the tertiary institution of their choice. The table below will assist you in understanding the JAMB cut-off marks.

What is the JAMB Cut-Off Mark for the 2024/2025 academic year?
The official JAMB minimum cut-off mark differs based on the three types of tertiary institutions ru in Nigeria which are universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. The JAMB official cut-off mark for all universities across the Nigerian Federation for the 2024/2025 academic calendar is One Hundred and forty (140) only, polytechnics and colleges of education are to accept a minimum score of One Hundred (100) only. It is an offence for any tertiary institution in Nigeria to admit any student with scores below the JAMB minimum cut-off mark. Doing anything contrary to this JAMB rule attracts sanctions to the admitting institutions.
Meanwhile, some universities in Nigeria, like the University of Benin (UNIBEN), and the University of Ibadan (UI), set their minimum cut-off mark as 200 for all courses, while some state and private universities like Ambrose Alli Univesity (AAU), Delta State University (DELSU) prefer to stick with the JAMB minimum score of 140.

JAMB Cut-Off Mark For All Courses
The JAMB cut-off marks for all courses in different institutions in Nigeria are different based on the institution not JAMB again and it is really difficult to list all of them below. Therefore, there is no fixed JAMB cut Off mark for courses, the only Cut off mark for the various courses is decided by institutions admitting, and no more JAMB. Some of such scores are decided by Post-UTME for institutions that are still administering Post-UTME.
How to Calculate Aggregate Scores for Institution Administering Post-UTME for all Courses
To calculate your aggregate, you will divide your JAMB Score by 8 and your Post Utme score by 2, then we can say that your aggregate score is the summation of your JAMB score divided by 8 and your post-UTME score divided by 2.
Let’s say, a student who wishes to study pharmacy in Unilag scored 270 in JAMB and then 80 in Post UTME, the aggregate score can then be calculated as thus;
230/8 + 90/2 = 28.75 + 45
Making the student’s aggregate score 73.75.
So you see that the higher your JAMB and Post UTME score the higher your average aggregate score.
This aggregate score is different for all Institutions, soon I will be updating you with the Aggregate scores for all courses in Nigerian Universities.
