JAMB Policy on How to Upload O’level Results Online

The introduction of the Joint Admission Matriculation Board Central Admission Processing System (JAMB CAPS) brought a lot of new policies on how JAMB runs its admission programs.

Firstly, all admission will be done online through the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

Secondly, all candidates are to upload their O-level results (WAEC, NABTEB, NECO, etc) results onto the JAMB CAPS website.

Thirdly, all candidates seeking admission into any University, Polytechnic, college of Education, or any tertiary institution in Nigeria are advised to visit the JAMB CAPS portal to check their JAMB admission status.

Fourthly, all candidates are expected to accept or reject the JAMB provisional admission offer on the official JAMB portal.

Fifthly, candidates that do not upload their O’level results, may likely not gain admission through the JAMB CAPS.

There are basically two ways recommended to upload O’level results to the official JAMB portal and they include;

During the JAMB registration
After the JAMB UTME (candidates with awaiting results or those who registered late and had no time to upload them during the registration process)

During the JAMB registration

Candidates who have their O’level results available during the JAMB registration can upload their O’level results immediately after creating a JAMB profile on their official portal. Results commonly and easily uploaded are WAEC and NECO results, but the JAMB platform still accepts other nationally recognized results.

After the JAMB UTME

The Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) is doing everything possible to deliver on its mandates. In fact, they are one of the most performing examination managing bodies in Nigeria. This is why they allow candidates with awaiting results to apply. Therefore, because they have Awaiting Results, it is not compulsory for these candidates to upload results during JAMB registration because doing so would result in having fake scores uploaded on the JAMB database. As such, candidates sitting for the WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB examinations would be required to upload their scores when the O’level results are released.

How to Upload O’Level Results on JAMB CAPS Portal / Profile

First, verify your O’level upload by following the procedure below:

Visit the JAMB e-facility and log in to your JAMB profile via https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/efacility
If you successfully log into your dashboard click on “Check Admission Status”
Then on “Access my CAPS”
Afterward, click on “My O’level result” to confirm if your O’level is uploaded.

After verification, if you are yet to upload your result, visit any nearby accredited JAMB CBT center or JAMB office to upload your O’level result.

How to verify O’level results on JAMB CAPS

Follow these steps to verify WAEC and NECO results on the JAMB portal

Launch your chosen browser and go to the JAMB e-facility Portal.
Create e-Facility Account/Login to your JAMB profile
Enter your email address and password to log in to your JAMB Portal
Select Examination year
Click on the drop-down menu to select your examination year
Click on Check Admission Status
Click on the pink box to access your JAMB CAPS
Click on Access JAMB CAPS
Select the box the light green box to access your JAMB CAPS
Select My O’level
Click on the My O’level menu
You will see your O’level result uploaded on your JAMB Portal
O’level results will display on this page

Should you have updated your O’level details, which are not yet reflected on your JAMB CAPS profile? Click on the refresh your page to see the updated results.

Remember: Admission cannot be processed for candidates whose O’level status in CAPS indicates ‘Awaiting Result’.
